This series documents religious life in Venezuela as well as the relationship between the Catholic Church and the Venezuelan government, as demonstrated by materials concerning papal mediation of boundary disputes between Venezuela and British Guiana. There are no records for the period beween 1903 and 1909 when political strife and religious persecution disrupted relations. Additional information on the Church in Venezuela can be located in the Archives of other South American nunciatures, particularly Brazil; the archives of the nunciature in Portugal; and in the Secretariatus Status series Esteri.
